Sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) is rated as the most damaging of all the greenhouse gases. In fact it has been given a GWP (Global warming potential) of 23,900 times that of CO2. It is also has a excellent dielectric properties which makes it ideal for use in high voltage switchgear.

Part of requirements for using the gas deals with the way that it is handled and Wika is exhibiting its latest product, the GPU-2000, at CIRED 17 this week.

The GPU-2000 companies a vacuum pump for air, a vacuum compressor for SF6, filter elements, a humidity measuring system and the storage tank in one instrument, with the goal of providing a complete SF6 filling and handling solution.
